Summerfield is a unique town. It was incorporated
with the idea of offering small government, minimal services and low to no taxes. Since the incorporation
- the rural character, small government and low to no taxes idea has been in question. It is the responsibility
of all of us as citizens of Summerfield to adhere to these core principles of incorporation. As your next Mayor who believes in conservative principles, I will conduct
all town hall meetings with dignity and respect. I will remind the town council we are here to serve the citizens not
ourselves. My vision of Summerfield is to have open, honest and transparent government. Maintain
the rural character of Summerfield, maintain the parks and recreation fields and to keep a low to no property
tax. Ensure that we are good stewards of taxpayers money by keeping all citizens informed of present and future
ideas that come before the council.

NC State Representative, John Blust endorses
Wendelken for mayor in letter to the editor published in the NW Observer publication on 11/4/11.
On Nov. 8, the voters of Summerfield have an opportunity to elect Don Wendelken as their next
mayor. I have known Don for several years and have witnessed his selfless service to the community and to others. He is a
principled conservative who believes in low taxes and limited government.
Don is a veteran of the United States
Marine Corps, which instilled in him a firm “can do” mentality. He tackles each challenge with enthusiasm and
determination. His experience as a small businessman would be especially helpful in local government.
Don believes
in open and honest government. He treats people with dignity and respect, but is not afraid to ask the hard questions in an
appropriate manner. I believe Don Wendelken will be an exceptional mayor of Summerfield.

Wendelken for Summerfield mayor. I know he will fill the office with honesty, integrity and conservative decisions. I’ve
known him for years and have volunteered alongside him and others in political campaigns. He is a successful businessman and
Marine veteran who also volunteers in the community. He has a lovely wife and daughter who are supportive.

If you live in Summerfield, please vote for Don Wendelken for mayor. He is experienced in running a successful business. He
served our country as a Marine for 13 years. I’ve known Don for many years and have worked with him volunteering with
the Guilford County GOP. He is a fiscal conservative. He is for less spending, lower taxes, smaller government. I believe

Wendelken would serve citizens well
I’ve been privileged to serve with Don Wendelken for three years on the Guilford County Board of Equalization
& Review, which exists to handle appeals of property valuations and other related taxation issues.
Don quickly
developed a strong working knowledge of the state statutes that govern property taxation and was always a reasoned voice for
the fair and consistent application of those statutes to the board’s actions while being unfailingly courteous and attentive
to the appellants, staff and his fellow board members. His experience as a successful business owner proved invaluable when
addressing valuation appeals on such wide-ranging properties as shopping centers, corporate jets, software, homes and automobiles.
I appreciate Don’s diligent and substantial service to Guilford County’s citizens on the Board of E&R.
I’m convinced he would serve the citizens of Summerfield very well as their mayor.

Experience matters: He was a Staff Sergeant with 13 years of military experience serving as a Military Policeman,
Criminal Investigator and a Drill Instructor in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Sgt in the Guilford County Sheriff's Department and worked in
the Greensboro and High Point jail facilities. Served on the Guilford County Board of Equalization/Review
and Nursing home advisory committee. For the past 16 years, Don and his wife Linda have
been successful local business owners. He is a member of the Summerfield Founders
Day Committee, Parks and Recreation Committee and the Public Safety Committee. He is a problem
solver who listens to the concerns of everyone involved. He evaluates situations and makes command decisions
in stressful and non-stressfull situations. Help
